How to make healthy waffles
Below you will find detailed step-by-step instructions for preparing my waffle recipe with bananas and oats.
Preparation : Start by preheating your waffle iron.
Step one:
- Mix in a bowl:
- 250 g flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (8 g)
- 100g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar (8 g)
Mix the dry ingredients together well.
Step two:
- Add to the bowl:
- 250 g plant milk
(e.g. soy milk or oat milk) - 40 g neutral-flavored oil
- 50 g carbonated mineral water
(or just tap water) - (Put the bananas, plant milk in a blender)
- Add the smoothie mix to the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon.
Using carbonated sparkling water makes the waffles a little fluffier.
Still water or tap water also works well
Step three:
- Stir everything well briefly.
(Using a mixing spoon) ( Stir the blueberries into the waffle batter.)
- Let the dough stand for 10 minutes.
(for sources)
- Preheat the waffle iron well to medium heat .
Step four:
Prepare your waffle iron according to the instructions. I find medium heat works best for this recipe. I use spray oil or vegan margarine on the waffle before adding the waffle batter.
Cook according to your waffle iron instructions.
